Embark on a journey through the rugged, untamed landscapes of Greater Richtersveld, Namaqua, and Southern Namibia. Every kilometre unveils raw, breathtaking beauty alongside demanding tracks and trails that test your skill, determination, and stamina to their limits.
Participants
20 Teams of two riders each, competing in a test of endurance, skill, and strategy.
Competition Categories
Pioneer Class: Technical and semi-technical riding with off-road multi or single cylinder 4 stroke motorcycles ranging from 300cc to 1300cc.
Adventure Class: Adventure and semi-technical riding with off-road multi or single cylinder motorcycles ranging from 300cc to 1300cc.

Where can I find more information about the Project-X Challenge?

Will I need to notify my medical insurance company if I partake in Project-X?
We suggest you do. Remember to mention that Project-X is not a rally nor is it a race. It is a navigational off-road adventure.
Will there be a back-up vehicle if something does go wrong?
Yes, there will always be a back-up vehicle following the teams on the trails.
How many meals will be provided per day?
Riders will be provided with three meals every day.
Can I ride with a different capacity motorcycle than my teammate in the same class?
Yes, both riders are allowed to use any motorcycle as per the rules.
Can I use mousses in my wheels during Project-X?
Yes, you can. Just make sure your mousses are properly installed and well lubricated.
Can we use normal rubber tubes during Project-X?
Yes, you can but we suggest you make sure you have enough spare tubes with you in case of a puncture.
Will the teams receive any training from the organiser regarding the expected navigational challenges prior to the event?
Yes, the organiser will send all participating teams a comprehensive tutorial of what can be expected in terms of the navigation.
Will my one-thousand-rand deposit be paid back if my application/entry is not successful?
Yes, your deposit will be paid back within 72 hours if your entry was not successful.
